About Me.
TMI Edition
My World of Tanks JourneyMy World of Tanks (WoT) journey began in Dec of 2015 when some friends invited me to play. Naturally I declined knowing that my proclivity for such a game would probably see me become obsessed. Oh, how right I was.
About a week later I caved and joined World of Tanks on 5-Dec-15. My first line was in pursuit of the legendary M4 Sherman. I wavered during my first few months playing the game. The learning curve was steep and I experienced difficulties with the vision mechanics. Nothing was more frustrating than dying to opponents you never saw. I wanted to become as good as my friends so that when we played I could carry my own weight. That goal lead me to pursue educational materials for game mechanics, and I began to put what I learned into practice. My friends introduced me to XVM statistics, which I used to track my learning and improvement over time. |
Soon after they moved on from the game - occasionally returning to play casually at major updates, but never sticking around. At that time I sought out others to platoon with and ran into my first clan experience.
I Joined Norse Fire [N-F] on the last day of 2015. I met some real characters and was introduced to tier 6 strong holds and played in some really fun tournaments. I would joke all the time about truly being purple - a top 99.9% player. that I only played poorly to mask my true skill. The clan owner eventually disbanded the clan due to real life commitments. I kept in touch with some of them and began my next year as a bit of a nomad. Cutting my teeth solo queuing in random battles. My statistics continued to climb until I began hitting dark green overall stats. I finally decided I wanted to join the best clan I could to learn from better players and to experience how tier 8 Clan Wars (CW) worked. |
My time in Groot [GROOT] was shorty lived, I joined January of 2017. I enjoyed playing on the global map, and Clan Wars was end game content I was only just beginning to understand. That's where I met caller, tanker, and fellow streamer Stratagem. Rather suddenly, Groot died and it's clan commander Big_Guns_06 joined [MAHOU]. I once again went seeking a new place to call home. Having shared our Team speak with [CLAWS] I met many players from that clan, and was able to platoon with them. Clearly they were a step above most of the tankers I played with. Tankers that when platooned could carry matches. I was in awe of such strength on the battlefield.

I decided to be ambitious and apply to [CLAWS]. Statistically I wasn't meeting any of the requirements, but I knew I could play better, and be a stronger tanker given the opportunity to learn from others. After a lengthy recruitment process (miraculously) I was invited to join in March of 2017.
My WoT career grew exponentially in [CLAWS]. When I joined my overall WN8 was around 1700 and my WN8r was around 2200. [CLAWS] developed me into a better tanker. I spent over a year battling with them. I even had the opportunity to meet the clan Commander GeneraLeeDissociative during a motorcycle trip that took me through the Chicago area! I began to feel like I was stagnating by the end of my time in [CLAWS] my overall WN8 was 2200+ and my WN8r piqued at 3200. I joined with only 3 tier 10s, and left with 24 including 2 campaign reward tanks. The skills I learned and the community I was a part of made it difficult to choose to leave. |
I decided I could learn more, and set out to join a clan with even more skilled players that are better than me. Once again I was very ambitious in my goals and was evaluated by Guerrillas [-G-]. I did what I could to prove I was capable. I platooned with several members, and I really liked the community. By charm or good looks, who can say, but [-G-] extended an invitation to me in September 2018. I'm excited to participate in Clan Wars and Campaigns with [-G-] and I hope to develop my skills and game knowledge even further.

Through out my entire WoT career I always believed I could play better, and I've continually consumed content to advance my skill set. The game has a lot of depth and nuance, and I'm never going to stop learning.
One thing I believe that genuinely helps you get better is passing on what you know to others. That's why I put this site together and began streaming. I'm not the most skilled player in WoT, however my knowledge of the game is deep enough that I'm able to help along many tankers that seek to better themselves in the WoT community. I've always pictured myself as having two extended hands. One clasping onto mentors who are pulling me forward to more consistent play and deeper understanding. While the other is grasping onto some one behind me that I can pull and mentor along.
I hope you find entertainment, education, and a community with me. My goal is to better the overall World of Tanks community as a whole, and to one day get invited to the Community Contributor program from Wargaming.
